
Job Description
Position Objective: To provide pastoral leadership to the worship ministries of Victory of the rock and work with the other worship minister
Position Description: The Worship Pastor will oversee and produce worship services and special programs, coordinating all-encompassing service details based on the theme and overall direction established by the Senior Pastor and the other worship Director. He must be a creative, passionate visionary in leading people to God after the pattern of our mission statement. The Worship Pastor will be a team-builder with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to develop a long-term plan for growing the worship ministry and inspire those around him to join in the pursuit of that vision. This position is pastoral, requiring service not solely as a musical/performing arts director and ministry coordinator, but also as a spiritually mature shepherd to the people in the church.

Pastoral Responsibilities
Shepherd our church family in various forms of pastoral counsel, including one-on-ones, weddings, funerals, etc.
Demonstrates commitment to spiritual growth by spending regular time with the Lord.
Be a spiritual leader and shepherd to those in your ministry and within your sphere of influence. Be motivated to live as an example of Jesus Christ to those in the ministry, the Church and beyond.
Complete Rooted (Community Group On-ramp).
Lead or attend a Victory of the Rock community group on a regular basis.
Lead assigned team members and direct reports.
Have a lot of fun serving the Lord Jesus Christ!
Key Duties
Support Victory of the Rock’s Spiritual Pathway with your leaders and teams.
Implement Summit’s Leadership Development Pathway with your leaders.
Assist Worship Pastor in leading worship and developing creative plans for Weekend Services and Special Events.
Oversee the following ministries:
Student Ministry Worship (until the campus launch)
New Campus Worship Ministry
Recruit, train, develop, schedule, and build worship teams to support various worship experiences and events. This will include providing opportunities for skills development and growth.
Other duties as assigned by the Worship Pastor or Lead Team members.
General Responsibilities
Bring helpful information and insights to move Victory of the Rock’s mission forward.
Help protect guardrails and ensure we continue to move forward within those guardrails.
Oversee your ministry budget.
Work well with the Creative Team and Lead Team.
Attend all regularly scheduled staff prayer and planning meetings.
Operate as the team shepherd on and off the stage.
Invest time networking, reading, reflecting and experimenting to shape worship experiences that maximize participation and engagement that brings life change.
Prepare and execute the use of backing tracks that enhance the quality of the worship experience.
Contribute creative ideas to the planning of series, events, and worship experiences.
Collaborate with Worship Pastor and Songwriting Team
Pour into other ministries, strengthening their worship experiences.
Utilize Planning Center to administrate and organize worship teams.
Be clear, concise and timely in communication.

Required Qualifications:
Spiritual
A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a growing personal relationship with Him is expressed by ongoing spiritual disciplines of Bible reading, prayer, personal worship, fasting, confession, and fellowship.

College education or some College
Skilled use of technology in worship and of sound, lighting, computers, presentation software, and video projection.
Agreement with the Regulative Principle of worship and willing to develop worship services that follow that philosophy.
Pastoral experience characterized by empathy and a commitment to God’s Word)
Creative ability to incorporate other art forms (minimum: choral and instrumental arts; preferred: visual, graphic, and/or drama)
Musical skill (minimum: expertise in choral/instrumental conducting; preferred: orchestration ability, personal instrumental proficiency)
Personal
Strong leadership, organization, and administration skills
An enthusiastic stage presence for leading a large church in worship
Positive experience and attitude in managing multiple employees, building relationships, and leading successful teams
Proven initiative and willingness to grow professionally
Specific Responsibilities: Invest time developing relationships with lost people to be effective in pursuing the Great Commission and helping the church to do the same.
Set the standard for serving as a lead worshipper in worship services
Plan and direct the corporate worship services of Victory of the Rock in consultation with the Senior Pastor and with prayer, conceptual forethought, theological accuracy, variety, sensitivity to the Spirit, synergy, and musical appropriateness. Ensure that all the musical and technical aspects of the service are well-planned, rehearsed, and suited to advance the theme for the day.
Coordinate all aspects of the worship ministry to function together cohesively, overseeing song and choral selection, media preparation and presentation, sound and lighting enhancements, and coordination of all instrumentalists, vocalists, and other participants.
Build and equip the teams to carry out the worship areas of Victory of the Rock.
Be a dynamic, adaptable advocate for the worship ministry, its various components, and its mission and vision within the context of the Victory of the Rock community.
Oversee the worship department budget, organization, and volunteers.
Plan and direct seasonal programs as outreach opportunities.
Direct all weekly activities and rehearsals necessary to facilitate excellent worship experiences in all services.
Lead in pastoral care for all worship ministry members.
Research and introduce our worship teams and choirs to worship training provided by conferences, books, or other ministries.
Build contacts and relationships with local musicians, studios, and organizations for both evangelistic and staffing purposes.
Set, attain, evaluate, and modify short-term and long-term goals for the worship ministry that align with the vision and mission of Victory of the Rock.
Partner with Victory of the Rock. to encourage and enhance their music program.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
experience at the Ministry.
Working knowledge of Planning Center Online and Church Community Builder ( if not we are training you) .
Experience recruiting, training, and leading a high-octane volunteer team.
Experience planning and facilitating training, large events, and retreats.
Experience managing a ministry budget.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk and will occasionally be required to do some light lifting (up to 25 pounds).
