
Job Description
The role of the Connections Pastor is to oversee the connection and spiritual growth strategy of Victory of the Rock Church under the direction and leadership of the Senior Pastor. This will require a firm grasp of the beliefs, values and strategy of Victory of the Rock Church and the ability of staff and key leadership teams with its mission, vision and values. The Connection Pastor will lead guests to a genuine sense of belonging, involvement and spiritual growth at Victory of the Rock by meeting people where they are and leading them to next steps. The Connection Pastor will facilitate relational connection and spiritual growth of adults through weekend guest services, groups, volunteer teams, and assimilation of new members.
VISION
The Connections Pastor leads the process of helping attenders find belonging and community at Victory of the Rock campuses. This leader transmits the culture of Victory of the Rock Mission, Vision, and Values and grows and cultivates our assimilation process. As the point person, they are responsible for all aspects of connection events, the development and support of members of their team (staff and volunteers), and working in collaboration with central ministry leaders for campus growth and vitality, discipleship and outreach. The Connections Pastor is a highly relational and administratively gifted leader who is passionate about helping people connect to Christ and to one another.
SKILLS
A successful Connections Pastor will be strong in administration and systems development, verbal and written communication, and exhibit the relational leadership style of a natural team builder. The Connections Pastor is a person who is passionate about helping people come to life in Christ and move toward growth and community at Victory of the Rock. Characteristics of being a self-starter, positive, optimistic, humble and teachable are essential and will relate to job performance. This role will require Sundays and some evenings/weekends to support the ministry.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for this position has one year of ministry experience, and, preferably, additional strong customer service experience. They have a high level of emotional intelligence and use that gift to make guests feel like family. They have a proven record of recruiting and equipping high-capacity leaders. They have a track record of delegating work and ministry tasks and effectively creating systems to do so, and they have a heart for hospitality and an attentiveness for improving details of the guest experience for everyone from first-time visitor to long-time member of Victory of the Rock.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
A personal commitment and growing relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
College Degree required; Seminary degree preferred.

Primary Duties
take leadership and ownership of connections ministries, growing and nurturing this ministry as a part of their leadership
build strong relationships and trust with the members, visitors, and community of Victory of the Rock
lead a team of volunteer ministry leaders to ensure successful weekend services and an intentional strategy for connecting people to serving and inVictory of the Rock Communities
collaborate with other Connections Pastor to implement Victory of the Rock’s uniform strategy of serving and Victory of the Rock Communities for assimilation and care
work with the Pastor of Care & Counseling to help Victory of the Rock Communities care for their own members, assisting in guidance and leadership where needed in organizing meal trains, hospital visits, and care duties
grow in connection with the teaching pastors and the church in order to understand the direction of message series and assist with writing follow up questions to be utilized in Victory of the Rock Communities
DUTIES
ASSIMILATION: Cast vision and direction for on-boarding experiences at all campuses. Organize and execute connection initiatives in collaboration with the campus pastors and other ministry leaders. Utilize databases and other tools to move people through a process of connection.
PASTORAL CARE: Pastor and shepherd people for connectedness, engagement, spiritual growth. Help in hard times, counsel, weddings, funerals and other pastoral needs. Working with Victory of the Rock board and our care model, develop a system of support for people in difficult times
LEADERSHIP: Recruit and manage a team of qualified staff and volunteers for the vitality of connections and care at Victory of the Rock. Generate increased awareness of serving and growth opportunities and lead a team responding to inquiries for connection.
WORSHIP: Host weekend services and lead at events as needed, including connection events, membership orientations, leadership training, weddings, funerals, and other special events. Be available as a point person on Sundays in the lobby between services to meet people and assist with needs.
SPIRITUAL GROWTH: Encourage the spiritual development of people through small groups and other relational engagement. Involved with new believer experiences, groups and classes in line with Hope’s mission and vision.
MULTISITE SUPPORT: Work with central ministry teams and campus pastors to improve campus vitality and achieve goals.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
experience at the Ministry.
Working knowledge of Planning Center Online and Church Community Builder ( if not we are training you) .
Experience recruiting, training, and leading a high-octane volunteer team.
Experience planning and facilitating training, large events, and retreats.
Experience managing a ministry budget.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk and will occasionally be required to do some light lifting (up to 25 pounds).
